Christie is one of several Republicans who have an eye on the 2024 GOP nomination.
Former New Jersey Governor and 2016 GOP presidential candidate Chris Christie has just released his new book Republican Rescue: Saving the Party from Truth Deniers, Conspiracy Theorists, and the Dangerous Policies of Joe Biden. The book details the need for the GOP to focus on winning in 2022 and 2024 to reverse the current course of failing policies from the administration. Christie puts emphasis on the need for Republicans to focus on solving the issues that voters care about, which is the strategy that proved to work in the Virginia governor’s race on November 2nd. Many political analysts view Christie as a potential front runner for the GOP nomination, although he will likely face tense competition.
Former President Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley are among many potential candidates for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination.
Chris Christie is currently the chief political commentator at ABC News, which gives him the opportunity to regularly give his political analysis to a large audience. Christie is clear about his positions and defends them effectively with facts context. In doing so, he can subtly pitch his presidential case to a wide variety of voters.
Partisan bickering is not what voters want to see. Voters want results. Virginia Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin employed Christie’s strategy and won based on his ability to campaign on issues instead of rhetoric and political theater. Youngkin did not give attention to former President Trump during his campaign, which is part of Christie’s strategy for the GOP to get back to winning. The focus should be on why liberal policies are not working right now instead of giving attention to the past.
Being able to win both traditional Republican voters and Trump’s voter base is the formula that Christie believes is essential for both 2022 and 2024. It also helps that the GOP is currently polling tremendously with Independents. These are the voters who ultimately determine election outcomes. Trump won the majority of Independents in 2016 but lost them in 2020.
As a potential 2024 GOP nominee, Chris Christie is beginning to make his case for why he is the right person for the job. He says he will not announce his 2024 intentions until after the 2022 midterm elections. His current focus is ensuring a Republican majority in the House and Senate heading into 2024, which at this point seems more and more likely by the day. Recent polling has been a disaster for President Biden, and he has been dragging down the entire Democratic Party with him.
In order for the GOP to capitalize on the president’s low approval ratings, they need to offer solutions to the issues that currently face the nation, including inflation, workforce shortage, and supply chain interruptions. Christie details the blueprint for winning in his book, which is currently the top-ranked new release on Amazon.
