If you haven't taken the time to listen to music today, I recommend that you do. My daughter sent me some wonderful operatic music today, and it helped bring back some delightful memories of the past.
It's amazing how music we love gives us joy, and brings back delightful memories. This morning my daughter sent me operatic music that is among my favorites.
It may sound odd, but music speaks to different aspects of who we are and helps us to enjoy life much more.
If you haven't taken the time to listen to music today, turn to your computer and go to YouTube, and then to LibreOffice and write what's in your heart.
I have done this many times, and those words have been delivered to The Latest. They have generally been happy words, and hopefully they will continue to be.
Today this operatic music is reminiscent of wonderful evenings I spent at the Lyric Opera in Chicago, as well as Carnegie Hall in New York. The orchestra played first, and then the curtain opened.
On the stage were some of the greatest performers of operatic music the world has been privileged to hear.
I heard Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Robert Merrill, Richard Tucker, as well as many of the female performers some of you fellow opera lovers may remember. Do you remember Joan Sutherland or Montserrat Caballe? I heard them as well, and many of their contemporaries. They brought blessings to my life.
Now as I sit here writing I see myself in the lobby of the Lyric Opera standing next to Placido Domingo and his wife. Later, I would rush to grab an empty seat in the front row and remember him spending the second act singing the great opera Andrea Chenier as he looked down my low cut dress.
I sit here many years later remembering with joy in my heart the experiences that will stay with me as long as I live- and hopefully after that, as we still don't know what heaven has to offer if we go there.
For the moment, I recommend that you take the time to listen to this great operatic music and carry it with you as you live your day. I truly suggest that you do.
