Texas Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw Makes Case for Results over Slogans

Texas Republican Congressman and Navy SEAL Dan Crenshaw blasted some of his colleagues in the House for choosing fame and political theater over true public service.

Rep. Crenshaw recently spoke at a Texas campaign event to give his vision for GOP success in the 2022 midterm elections.
Crenshaw gave some of his colleagues a harsh, well-deserved criticism in both major parties. He made a distinction between members of Congress who are actually interested in legislating as public servants and members who are just interested in fame and political theater.
“There are two types of members of Congress: there are performance artists, and there are legislators,” he exclaimed.
On the Democratic side, Minnesota congresswoman Ilhan Omar, New York congresswoman AOC, Michigan Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, and Massachusetts congresswoman Ayanna Pressley represent some of the far-left progressives in the House. These congresswomen can’t point to any meaningful legislation they have passed. Their time in Congress has been defined by what they have said, not what they have done. They’ve been making headlines for years, even though they are some of the most ineffective people in Congress.
On the Republican side, Crenshaw also blasted some members of Congress in his own party. He has the same criticism for members of the House Freedom Caucus, which consists of far-right members who are “grifters” and “performance artists” who only “know how to say slogans real well.” Some examples include Colorado congresswoman Lauren Boebert, Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, Ohio congressman Jim Jordan, and Florida congressman Matt Gaetz. These are members of Congress who are more interested in their prime-time TV appearances, which lead to campaign donations, than doing their jobs.
“Performance artists are the ones who get all of the attention, the ones you think are more conservative because they know how to say slogans real well. They know how to recite the lines that they know our voters want to hear.”
Crenshaw is spot on with this criticism as the current political circus continues to get worse every day. He also criticized some right-wing media figures attempting to destroy the careers of Republican representatives Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney simply because they have dared to speak out against former President Trump.
Crenshaw emphasized that both Kinzinger and Cheney have 99 percent conservative voting records in the House, but they continue to be blasted by some conservative opinion hosts in the media for voting their conscience in the second Trump impeachment and serving on the January 6th committee.
Crenshaw is pleading with conservative voters to see through the grifters and performances artists in the GOP, whom he believes are a major threat to the conservative movement.
Crenshaw knows what it takes to win: connecting with voters and giving them reasons to vote. As voter turnout in the U.S. remains extraordinarily low, voters do not feel like politicians are reaching out to them.

We have gotten to the point in American politics when many voters will vote for one party just to stop the other party, which in itself is an indictment of the U.S. political system.
